Sandau and Diggins Win Haywood NorAm 10/15km CL Interval Start Races + Interviews UPDATED

December 11, 2011 (Sovereign Lake, BC) –  Kevin Sandau (FNSC) took the win in Senior Men’s 15km Classic Interval Start race on Day Two of the opening round of the Haywood NorAm series taking place in Sovereign Lake, BC. Sandau completed the 3x5km course with a time of 41:32.8 for his first victory of the year besting  teammate Brent McMurtry in second at just under 20s behind followed by American Karl Nygren with CXC.

The Senior Women’s 10km classic interval start contest featured an American invasion as CXC’s Jesse Diggins added another win to her resume in 31:38.31 as the top six spots were claimed by US skiers. Following Diggins was Kate Fitzgerald (APU)  in second (32:35.02), while Caitlin Gregg (CXC) grabbed the final spot on the podium for the bronze. Alysson Marshall, of Salmon Arm. B.C., was the top Canadian  posted a seventh-place time of 33:17.64.
