March 16, 2008 (Lillehammer, Norway) – Anders Aukland (Nor) and Tatiana Jambaeva (Rus) are the new FIS Marathon Cup champions after the final event of 10 competitions, Norway’s 54km Birkebeinerrennet classic race held on Saturday that finished at the Birkebeiner Skistadium in Lillehammer with fabulous snow and weather conditions.

The final ranking of the 10th edition of the Marathon Cup was undecided until the last hard competition. Stanislav Rezac (Cze) and Hilde Pedersen Gjermund (Nor) were the winners of the final competition with new record times at the Birkebeinerrennet.
