December 7, 2008 (La Clusaz, France) – Day two of the World Cup stop in La Cluzas saw skiers competing in the team relay. The Women’s 4x5km race was won by Finland, while Norway continued it’s World Cup relay dominance as the men won the 4x10km event for the second time this season
In the women’s race a blistering second leg by defending World Cup Champion Virpi Kuitnen gave Finland the win over Sweden while Petter Northug skied to victory again for Norway with a slightly larger margin of victory (from the Gallivare event) over his relay rival from Sweden Marcus Hellner.
The Canadian men’s team began the relay with a strong leg by Ivan Babikov but later with drew not completing the event. Up next is the World Cup in Davos, Switzerland on Dec. 13-14, consisting of a classic distance race followed by a classic technique sprint.
