January 10, 2009 (Oberhof, Germany) – The US men’s Biathlon team was 11th at the Biathlon World Cup stop in Oberhof, Germany on Thursday, Jan.8. The team of Lowell Bailey, Jay Hakkinen, Tim Burke and Jeremy Teela completed the 4×7.5km event + 3:23.9 back from the winning Austrian team. In second was the Russia team just 8.7 seconds back followed by the German 19.2 second off the lead time. The Americans were only 2.5 seconds from a top ten finish. They are in action again on Saturday (Jan. 10) in the 10km Sprint – results to follow when available. No Canadians are taking part in the Oberhof World Cups.
