February 7, 2009 (Stowe, VT) – Olympians James Southam and Lars Flora from Anchorage, Alaska were 1-2 at Saturday’s TD Banknorth SuperTour 10km skate at Trapp Family Lodge – SuperTour round #15 (including US Nationals). Dartmouth College’s Nils Koons (Sidney, ME) surprised the elite field by nabbing third place and earning the UVM Collegiate Carnival victory. Link to YouTube video from Saturday’s men’s race here.

In the women’s 5km race it was Kristina Strandberg (Saab Salomon) on the podium again with UVM’s Caitlin Patterson (Anchorage, AK) in second and Dartmouth’s Rosie Brennan (Park City, UT) in third. Action continues tomorrow with 10 and 15 kilometer skate technique races on the new race courses at Trapp Family Lodge.
