Olympians Kershaw and Crawford Host a Training Session with Sudbury Skiers

release by CCC

August 1, 2009 (Sudbury, ON) – Sudbury’s up and coming cross-country skiers had two Olympians attend their training session on July 29 for extra motivation. Olympians Devon Kershaw and Chandra Crawford, both members of the Canadian XC Ski Team, led a group of 50 aspiring young skiers from Laurentian Nordic and Walden Ski Club through a one-hour training session at Laurentian University Stadium. Kershaw wanted to convey the message that anything was possible with lots of hard work.

On the same day, Kershaw teamed up with Eleanor McMahon, the founder of Share the Road Share the Road, to raise awareness for bike safety and healthy lifestyles. This joint initiative between Kershaw and Share the Road featured a group bike ride in Sudbury on the evening of July 29. The 15km ride started and finished at Science North and was open to cyclists of all ages and abilities.
