August, 11, 2009 – This year, JO’s will take place on New England ‘Home Turf’ and is sure to offer plenty of excitement as New England defends its Alaska Cup Title! The 2010 Junior Olympics will take place on the trails of the Heritage Nordic Center in Presque Isle. Maine, one of New England’s premier race venues. Applications are now being accepted for Age Group Coaches and wax staff. There may also be a coaching intern spot available. Trip dates are tentatively March 6- 14th, 2010.
Age Group coaches will have the main responsibility of overseeing their group of athletes to ensure they have what they need to do their best on race day. Coaches may be called upon to do a variety of things and should be comfortable in different roles; waxing, van driving, organizing, cheering (!) and lending an ear to skiers who need / want it, are just some of the things you may encounter during the week.
If you are excited to be around this country’s best junior skiers, and want to help The New England Junior Team achieve their dreams then email your application/resume by September 25th to Janice Sibilia at janice@nensa.net, fax to: (845) 896-0148, or mail to Janice Sibilia, 6 Orbit Lane, Hopewell Junction, NY 12533
The JO trip is a huge event and the coaching staff is comprised of many dedicated volunteers. We are always looking for additional volunteers to help with the myriad of tasks that are a part of this trip. If you are interested in volunteering please contact Janice Sibilia.
