December 1, 2009 (Grande Prairie, AB) – Over the November 21-22nd weekend, almost 60 members from 6 Northern Alberta cross country ski clubs spent 2 days of intense mental and physical training in Grande Prairie at the Statoil-sponsored Northern Alberta Team Cross Country Ski Training Camp.

Originally scheduled for Athabasca, the camp was moved at the last moment to Wapiti Nordic where good snow conditions and warm hospitality was offered by members of the local ski club. Two-time Olympic medalist and Statoil ambassador Beckie Scott from Vermillion, Alberta joined the camp and participated in many of the on-snow and seminar sessions. Scott encouraged all the participants to pursue their dreams and to have fun during the early stages of their skiing careers.
