December 6, 2009 (Dusseldorf, GER) – The unexpected victory in the women’s Team Sprint 6×0.8km F race went to Italy’s team of Magda Genuin and Arianna Follis. Follis waited until the last lap to put in the decisive attack for the victory.

In a photo finish, Sweden I’s Hanna Falk out-sprinted Norway 1’s Maiken Caspersen-Falla for second place. Now that she’s leading the Sprint World Cup standings, Falk’s new nickname is the Flying Falcon. She and Ida Ingemarsdotter (4th in Saturday’s sprint) put on a terrific race to come from behind for second spot on the podium.

Slovenia’s Petra Majdic and Vesna Fabjan placed 4th while Canada’s Perianne Jones and Chandra Crawford finished in 20th following the semi finals. The US did not race.
