Tour de Ski 2010 Oberhof Stage 2 Women’s 10km Cl Pursuit – Kowalczyk Wins and Leads Tour

Renner Moves up to 21st

January 2, 2010 (Oberhof, Germany) – Justyna Kowalczyk (POL) made up 16 seconds on Petra Majdic (SLO) to win the second stage of the Tour de Ski, the women’s 10km classic handicap start event, and takes over as leader of the Tour. Aino Kaisa Saarinen (FIN) moved up into 2nd place overall, with Kristin Stoermer Steira (NOR) coming in third. Majdic fell back to 10th place. Sara Renner (CAN) made good use of the track and raced well moving up from yesterday’s 27th in the Prologue to finish 21st today, 1:25 back. Sunday’s Sprints are the final TdS events in Oberhof, before the Tour de Ski moves on to Prague, CZE.
