January 3, 2009 (Baiersbronn, Germany) – Alissa Johnson (Park City, UT) followed a solid first jump with an even better second round to finish sixth in the seventh Continental Cup competition of the season on Saturday in Baiersbronn. Johnson, 23, led an experience-laden U.S. squad that placed three in the top 14.
Jessica Jerome’s (Park City, UT) first jump 88.5 meters was big enough to net her 10th place, while Abby Hughes (Park City, UT) was the picture of consistency with two jumps of 82 meters for 14th place. Karin Friberg (Roseville, MN) just missed out on the finals with a 78.5, 31st among first jumps. Sarah Hendrickson skipped out on this weekend’s field to do schoolwork and prepare for the Junior World Championships.
