January 7, 2010 (Altenberg, Germany) – Sara Studebaker and Lowell Bailey topped the field at the US Biathlon Team Time Trial, the first of three final selection USBA Olympic Team selection races in Altenberg, Germany. The U.S. Biathlon Team will choose the final two men and three women for their 2010 Olympic team, based on the results from Thurday’s ITT in Altenberg, and the IBU Cup sprint and pursuit races there this Saturday and Sunday.
The team currently consists of current IBU World Cup leader, Tim Burke (Paul Smiths, NY), three-time Olympian Jay Hakkinen (Kasilof, Alaska), Haley Johnson (Lake Placid, NY) and two-time Olympian Jeremy Teela (Heber City, UT).
