FIS NC World Cup Chaux-Neuve – Lodwick 3rd, Spillane 5th, Demong 6th

January 16, 2010 (Chaux-Neuve, France) – Despite the support of his Jura fans, Jason Lamy-Chappuis (FRA) conceded today’s win of the FIS NC World Cup in Chaux-Neuve, FRA, to Magnus Moan (NOR). Moan, who started the xc ski portion of the competition in 29th position after the jump made up a 1:03 deficit to beat the Frenchman by 4.2 seconds. American Todd Lodwick put in a fine showing taking 3rd at 7.1seconds.

While they did not have their usual stellar jumps, with Spillane in 5th, Lodwick in 7th, and Demong in 10th in the morning, the US team finished strong. Everyone, including Taylor Fletcher, moved up in the ski portion following the xc ski leg with Spillane holding his 5th and Demong 6th as Lodwick made it to the podium claiming 3rd.

Canadians Jason Myslicki moved up from a jump place of 43rd to 38th overall, and Wesley Savill jumped to 61st place, then skied up to 55th place.
