FIS NCombined WCup Schonach – Lamy-Chappuis Again

Myslicki 30th

January 23, 2010 (Schonach, Germany) – France’s Jason Lamy-Chappuis, fourth after the jump competition at the Nordic Combined FIS World Cup event in Schonach, GER, bested Pavel Churavy (CZE) by 2.1s in second, and Italian Alessandro Pittin at 4.4s in third.

“It was my intention to grap as many points as possible here in Schonach. I had a nice jump, and on the track we worked well together. Doing so, we were able to keep away chasers for gold like Kircheisen and Edelmann.”

For the North Americans, Jason Myslicki (CAN) led the way earning a WC point in 30th at +1:54.0 behind the winner. Bryan Fletcher was the top finisher for the US at +2:04.9 placing 35th, followed by Taylor Fletcher in 38th and Alex Miller in 40th. Myslicki’s teammate, Wesley Savill, was 44th.

In the overall standings of the World Cup, Lamy-Chappuis is now 380 points ahead of Felix Gottwald (AUS). The double bronze medalist at the 2009 Nordic World Championships could become the second Frenchmen to win the World Cup crystal globe for the overall title. The only other Frenchman to have done so was Fabrice Guy in 1992. The NC World Cup in Schonach ends Sunday with the team event.
