January 31, 2010 – The US XC Ski Team’s Andy Newell has been one of the greatest proponents for cross-country skiing, promoting it to skiers and non-skiers alike as radical, cool, intense, fast and fun. The New York Times interviewed him for their series “Faster, Stronger, Higher”, featuring Vancouver Olympic hopefuls, who offer training tips and fitness advice for recreational athletes. Included is an audio slideshow, with beautiful photos by Laura Duff of Newell skiing and demonstrating skating techniques, while his voice describes what he is doing. It is great introduction to skating and skiing novice skiers, spectators and fans.
