February 3, 2010 – Spurred by the recent confession of Finnish cross-country skier, Mika Myllylä, that he had taken EPO during his career, the Norwegian Anti-doping Agency is renewing its push to create blood profiles, “blood passports”, of every athlete likely to compete at the international level.
In a report by Norwegian television, NRK, Anders Solheim of Anti-doping Norway is quoted: “We believe that the blood passport is the way to go for the future. We have asked the Norwegian Olympic Committee many times, and now the IOC seems to be finally listening to us.”
