USA’s Noah Hoffman Delivers Solid 7th in Beitostølen Men’s 15km FR – Sundby Doubles Up

November 23, 2013 (Beitostølen, Norway) – Rising US star Noah Hoffman delivered a solid 7th place finish today in Beitostølen in the Men’s 15km FR individual start won by Norwegian Martin Johnsrud Sundby who took his second win of the weekend. Fellow Norge skiers on the podium were Anders Gløersen in second and Sjur Røthe in 3rd.

The Hoff’s performance is an excellent sign for the US camp as the Aspen, CO skier had surgery in April and today’s effort is not only a confidence booster but a good sign that his recovery and training is on track.

“My training this year has gone as well as I could have hoped. I had surgery to repair a torn labrum in my left shoulder at the end of the World Cup season. The recovery process from that operation has gone very smoothly,” he told Trax pre-season. “My physical therapist, Adam Perreault, has helped me regain my strength and range of motion. I am again training without restriction and have also resumed working on my technique with my coach Zach Caldwell. We believe that I am set up to take another step forward in my career next season.” – full interview with the Hoff here.

Hoffman time was 20+ seconds better than Norwegian great Petter Northug in 12th. Meanwhile Michigan’s Jesse Smith was also on the start line and placed 122nd.
