February 5, 2010 (Canmore, Alberta) – This weekend’s Viessmann World Cup event in Canmore, Alberta falls just one week before the Olympics, and many teams are taking different approaches to their final preparations. While nearly all of the world’s top cross-country ski racers are here to contest the pre-Games World Cup and sharpen themselves for Whistler, Norway’s A-team is conspicuously absent.
Still others, though they’re here to compete, are taking a somewhat different tack with their last remaining days before the Games begin. Kikkan Randall talked about this her first race in over a month, and Alex Harvey explains that for him, being tired now is a perfect part of his strategy. Finally, Germany’s Axel Tiechmann, gave us his take on his blistering final lap, and what he eats for breakfast.
