IBU World Cup Haute Maurienne – Bohm Wins Men’s 10km Sprint

Four Canadians in Top 30

February 6, 2010 (Haute Maurienne, France) – Daniel Bohm of Germany won Saturday’s IBU Biathlon World Cup sprint event in Haute Maurienne, FRA), with just one miss on the range. Austrian Julian Eberhard was second, the speed of his skiing almost making up for the three penalty laps, coming just 3.9 seconds behind Bohm. With the French Olympic biathlon team headed to Canada, it was up to Jean-Guillaume Beatrix to defend his home turf. He did surprising well, finishing 11th, just 49 seconds behind the winner. The podium was completed by Michael Hauser, another member of the team of Austria.

Canadians Marc-Andre Bedard (19th), Robin Clegg (20th), Tyson Smith (24th) and Patrick Cote (28th) all shot well and skied into the top 30, with Nathan Smith having a tough day on the range, shooting 6/10, for 39th.
