by skitrax.com

February 16, 2014 (Craftsbury, VT) – Last weekend Feb. 7-9, the 2014 USSA SuperTour touched down at the renowed Craftsbury Nordic Centre for round four of the series that saw skiers battle it out in three events – 5/10k FR, Ind 15/20k CL and Ind FR Sprints.

First up on Feb. 7 was the 5/10k that featured a great day on snow at Craftsbury. The women were led home by Caitlin Gregg (Madshus), fresh from her Toblach FIS World Cup starts, and the men’s winner was UVM’s Scott Patterson – also a recent returnee from a European sojourn at the U23 World Champs.

Patterson continued his winning ways the next day in the SuperTour Individual Start 15/20k CL topping the men’s field while APU’s Rosie Brennan was the fatest woman in the tracks.

The final race featured a day for the sprinters to play in the sun as Caitlin Gregg won the women’s qualifier and bulled her way through the heats to win over Jennie Bender and Caitlin Patterson. On the men’s side, Sam Naney qualified first, and similarly justified his ranking, besting Dakota Blackhorse-Von Jess and Reese Hanneman over the 1.5k men’s sprint loop.
