January 19, 2015 (Rumford, ME) – Day 2 of the 2015 EISA Bates College Winter Carnival in Rumford was frigid and saw the start for the races delayed by an hour due to dangerously cold temperatures. Once the races were finally underway, Heather Mooney (MID) proved herself tops for a second day in a row to win the women’s 5km FR event by 2.3s over second place, Annika Taylor (UNH). Cory Stock (DAR) finished third.
Patrick Caldwell (DAR) was the fastest man of the day in the 10km FR event as temperatures remained low. He sped to first place by a solid 45.6s over second place, Akeo Maifeld-Carucci (HAR), while Silas Talbot (DAR) rounded out the top three. The series resumes next week with the UVM Carnival in Stowe, VT.
