FIS Nordic Junior/U23 Nordic World Championships to Get Underway – Feb. 1–8

January 30, 2015 – FIS Nordic Junior World Ski Championships & U23 in Cross-Country will get underway on 1st February in Almaty; one of the largest cities in Kazakhstan. The most important event for youngsters in the Nordic disciplines will bring together more than 500 athletes from 36 countries. Juniors up to 20 years of age will compete for fifteen sets of medals in Cross-Country Skiing, Ski Jumping and Nordic Combined, while six additional competitions in Cross-Country await the men and ladies in the under-23 category.

The events will take place at Sunkar International Ski Complex just above Almaty. The competition venue has already been on the schedule several times for FIS Continental Cups in Ski Jumping and the FIS Nordic Combined World Cup. The Cross-Country and Nordic Combined courses have been newly built within the territory of the complex and will welcome the world’s best junior and U23 skiers for the first time.

Friday, 6th February

Sunday, 8th February 
11.00 Relay Ladies 4X3, 3km (C/F) – GMT 5.00
12.00 Relay Men 4X5 km (C/F) – GMT 6.00

Cross-Country Skiing U23

Saturday, 7th February
11.00 Skiathlon Ladies (7,5C/7,5F) – GMT 5.00
12.30 Skiathlon Men (15C/15F) – GMT 6.30

Ski Jumping

Thursday, 5th February
13.00 Individual HS 106 Ladies – GMT 7.00
18.00 Individual HS 106 Men – GMT 12.00

Saturday, 7th February
18.00 Team HS 106 Men – GMT 12.00

Nordic Combined

Saturday, 7th February
14.30 Team Gundersen 4X5km (F) CC – GMT 8.30
