March 14, 2015 (Fort Kent, Maine) – U16 racers were blessed with bluebird skies and beautiful snow conditions this afternoon as they gathered for the skate races at the Fort Kent Outdoor Center. Today’s races were the first of four for the 2015 NENSA U16 Championships. The 5k skate race went off without a hitch and skiers cruised around the twisting trails and went careening up and down hills.

In the girl’s race, Hannah Rieders from Massachusetts took third and Zoe McKinney from New Hampshire was in second. Ruby Lamb from Vermont won the race in a time of 15:43.8.
In the boy’s race Andrew Doherty from New Hampshire was third behind Greg Burt from Vermont in second. The boy’s champion today with a time of 13:24.1 was Samuel Hodges from Vermont.
