Job Opportunity – IT Support Manager @ Canadian Sport Institute Calgary

April 05, 2015 (Calgary, AB) – This position reports to Director of Finance and Administration. The position will function as the lead of Information Technologies supporting a broad range of technologies across the Canadian Sport Institute.

The incumbent will be called on to assist with the troubleshooting and support of IT related technologies within their location; this can range from the set-up of phones to printing support to support of specialized hardware and software that is on-site, faculty, or unit specific.

There is a high volume of work, a complex environment, intricate problem-solving, and low to moderate levels of stress associated with the position. Work may require the management of competing interests with satisfactory outcomes for all involved.

Works where there is ambiguity, continuous change, and shifting priorities between supporting learning and administrative environment.

The position requires regular upgrades of skills, as technologies and tools change. The job is driven by activities and users which may require some evening, weekend, and early morning hours.

Primary Purpose of the Position:

The position directs initial on-site support and troubleshooting to a wide variety of technology related services and works with clients to ensure their technical needs are met.  This includes, but is not limited to; desk-side, and network support; documentation of processes plus other recordkeeping and training/Knowledgebase documentation; asset management.
