August 08, 2015 – Avalon Nordic Ski Club (ANSC) services the Cities of St. John’s, Mount Pearl and Conception Bay South, and numerous additional smaller towns and communities in Eastern Newfoundland. ASNC is the only Nordic club on the Avalon Peninsula and serves a diverse and dispersed area of almost 263,000 residents (approximately 51% of Newfoundland and Labradors Population).

The Club operates Nordic skiing, fitness and related programs year round for club members, the community and the region. The recreational and competitive Nordic ski programs includes a Bunny and track attack program for children 9 years and under, Track Attack for 10-12 year olds, Challenge group for 12-15 year olds, the Club Ski Team for athletes aged 15 and above, adult and masters programs, and touring programs.

Additionally, the club will be introducing a Junior and High School team program in the fall 2015. The club attends numerous races and events within and outside of the Province. These events typically include National Championships, Eastern Championships, Provincial Championships, the Provincial Midget Championships, and provincially and regionally run skier development camps.

The Avalon Nordic Ski Club is looking for a passionate and dynamic full-time head coach to work with the various programs and services offered. The responsibilities of this position will include, but are not limited to the following general areas:

This position is a full-time position with an expectation of 35 hours per week, and the flexibility to work additional hours through in season and high activity periods. The position has a maximum of 1800 expected annual hours. The position has an anticipated start date of September 15 – 30, 2015 (negotiable).
