Calendars
After the FIS Cross-Country World Cup calendar 2015/16 was accepted in the spring, calendar frames until the 2018/19 seasons were discussed. The calendar for the 2016/17 season will be confirmed and sent to the FIS Council for approval next spring. All calendars can be found here.
Reimbursement rules
The red group (best men and ladies in current distance and sprint world rankings) has been reduced to the top 15 athletes per gender and winners or leaders of Continental Cups. Reimbursement for these athletes will be paid according to the current rules. These spots are nominative and only the competing athletes will be paid. The nations ranked in the top 20 of the team rankings will receive additional reimbursement using a factor, which will multiply the travel and accommodation costs. In total, the maximum number of athletes will be six per gender and the red group list (distance and sprint). The new reimbursement rules will be applied starting in the 2016/17 season.
Quota rules
During the summer, National Ski Associations were asked to review the quota rules. Proposals were discussed and a final decision for the 2016/17 season will be made next spring.
Technical Delegate updates
As every autumn, World Cup Chiefs of Competitions and FIS Technical Delegates meet in Zurich to receive updates about ICR articles, rules and guidelines for jury work. By using video clips, various case studies, borderline situations were discussed to make the jury work even more consistent.
