March 18, 2016 (Whitehorse, YK) – Come to watch Canada’s top Nordic skiers and local heroes in action at the Haywood Nordic Ski Nationals in Whitehorse, March 19-26 – Knute Johnsgaard, Emily Nishikawa, Dahria Beatty, Alex Harvey, Devon Kershaw, Ivan Babikov! The race start on March 19 with the team sprint race and finish on March 26 with mass start classic race.
Almost 500 atheltes and more than 100 support staff from around the country have registered for the event. For the first time in Whitehorse racing history, there will be para-nordic ski category.
46 Yukon Ski Team atheltes will be competing in this largest event hosted in the territory.
There are countless volunteers helping with the event, including course crew and snow-shovelers who have done great job inspite of the low snow coverage! Huge Thank you to all the volunteers! With your enthusiasm and support, we can be looking forward to the great successful event!

Haywood Nationals – Recreational Skiers Access
Ski trails are open during Haywood Nationals with some restrictions (refer to the maps below for each day). Wax Room is open regular hours. Recreational skiers may use Mt. MacIntyre parking lot, upper parking lot above the tennis courts and Dog parking lot. Please do not park at CGC parking lot!
On training days (Friday, March 18; Monday, March 21and Friday, March 25), for your own safety if you are using Wax Room as a access point either start skiing from north end of the Mt. MacIntyre parking lot or walk down the fire lane, cross Sumanik Drive and start skiing on Copper trail pass the gate. For your own safety we recommend that you ski the same direction as the race courses. Please always follow marshalls’ instructions.
