March 12, 2010 (Vancouver, BC) – The 2010 Paralympic Torch relay is still underway in Vancouver with a 24-hour torch marathon in Robson Square, which started at 2:00 pm yesterday. The Paralympic Flame will have been continuously carried and passed between torchbearers for 24 hours, concluding at 2:00 pm on Friday, March 12.
As a part of the 24-hour celebration, 2010 Olympic men’s hockey gold medalist Roberto Luongo had the honour of lighting the cauldron yesterday in Robson Square. The flame will then be brought into BC Place for the Opening Ceremony of the Vancouver 2010 Paralympic Winter Games later today.
