Coaches from Ontario, Alberta and British Columbia were among those participating in the inaugural course. Building on the traditional Comp-Dev course, the AWAD Comp-Dev course focused on the unique adaptations when planning and delivering training for para-nordic athletes, as well as the intricacies and considerations for the various classifications. Coaches were also introduced to the sport of biathlon, as it is an integral option for para-nordic athletes competing on the world stage. Special thanks to national team member, Chris Klebl and national team coach Robin McKeever for sharing their experience and knowledge, Bjorn Taylor and Menno Arendz for guiding the biathlon component and Mike Viera for facilitating the course.
