Canada Games CounJune 30, 2016 (Red Deer, AB) – The 2019 Canada Winter Games Host Society is looking to fill the contract position of Manager, Financial Services.

In less than three years, thousands of our country’s best and brightest will set their sights on Red Deer as we host the 2019 Canada Winter Games. More than 3,600 participants from across Canada, 450 media, 700 VIPs, 500 officials and thousands of visitors will join us for the two-week event. Featuring 19 sports and numerous cultural events and festivals, the 2019 Canada Winter Games will be the largest event in Red Deer’s history.

The 2019 Canada Winter Games Host Society is looking to fill the position of Manager, Financial Services. Reporting to the Senior Executive Manager, Finance and Administration and liaising directly with the Senior Volunteer Leader, Finance and Administration, we are looking for someone who will make a meaningful impact on the success of the Games. They will work closely with senior management to develop processes and policies and deliver timely, useful and accurate financial reports while ensuring compliance with all tax and regulatory requirements. They will interact with all staff, proactively provide relevant financial information to all stakeholders and ensure all agreements and transactions are accurately recorded and tracked, including all “Value in Kind”. They will lead the management and reporting of ongoing cash flows, research and provide recommendations on financial services best practices. As a member of the Finance team, they will be a big part of supporting the 2019 Canada Winter Games and passing on expertise to future Games Host Societies as a legacy.
