March 16, 2010 (Whitehorse, Yukon) – It was a bright, beautiful day for the 83rd Canadian XC
Ski Championships, the Haywood Ski Nationals in Whitehorse, Yukon where Graeme Killick (Banff Ski Runners) became the national champion in the men’s 10km Classic race. Just 3.9 seconds back was 2010 Olympian, Brent McMurtry (Foothills) while Drew Goldsack (Rocky Mountain Racers) claimed third at 18.1 seconds behind.
Chandra Crawford (Canmore/NST) won the women’s 5km Classic title with the silver going to Madeleine Williams (Edmonton Nordic), while Brittany Webster (Highlands Trailblazers) captured the bronze medal.
The short distance freestyle races, 10 and 15km for the women and men, and 5km/7.5km for the junior girls and boys take place on Wednesday.
