November 24, 2016 (Toronto, ON) – Happy Thanksgiving to our American friends. We’re in the final countdown to our 8th annual FIS Fantasy World Cup 2016/17 Contest as the season kicks off this coming weekend. With over $4,000 in prizes there’s lots of excitement beyond the racing so don’t miss out.
Some contestants have asked about Marit Bjoergen (Nor), Kikkan Randall (USA), Aino Kaisa Saarinen (Fin) and Katja Visnar (Slo) who were out last season as they all were pregnant and had newborns – congrats. Bjoergen remains in the Red Group while the others are all Outlaw skiers for our World Cup contest.
Register your team of four (4) men, and four (4) women including two (2) Outlaw Skiers – one (1) male and one (1) female not in the top 15 of the FIS World Cup overall rankings.
Points will be awarded following each World Cup based on each skier’s performance and published regularly at skitrax.com so you can see how your score compares to other international players and the actual FIS standings. Earn TdS or Lahti 2017 points, and other bonus points – all information, skier menus and contest rules are available when you register your team.
These are the original FIS Fantasy Nordic contests first launched with the Tour de Ski back in 2008 so enjoy fabulous top level xc ski racing and the chance to win fabulous prizes.
The deadline to register or revise your team is Friday, Nov. 25, at 10pm EST, the day before round one of the XC FIS World Cup in Ruka, Finland – good luck to all contestants.
