November 26, 2016 (West Yellowstone, MT) – Elizabeth Guiney (Craftsbury) pipped, Merete Myrseth (University of Utah) at the line by a mere 0.3s to take the women’s 5km CL on day two at West Yellowstone. Friday’s winner Katherine Ogden (Stratton Mountain) was third at 11.1s behind.

Scott Patterson (APU) was unstoppable in the men’s 10km race with a 20-second margin over Matt Gelso (Sun Valley) in second with Benjamin Lustgarten (Craftsbury) on the podium in 3rd. David Norris (APU) claimed 4th with Kevin Bolger (University of Utah) 5th.

According to Toko’s Ian Harvey, “The snow is quite fast although not at all icy.The tracks had some dirt, rocks, and sand in them in some places but overall conditions were good. Weather was gorgeous and the skating track is almost perfect.”
