December 15, 2016 – Following the recent release of the second McLaren Report, which concluded that state-sponsored doing in Russia represented “an unprecedented attack on the integrity of sport”, an article at CBC.ca says that Elena Vialbe, a top cross-country ski official in Russia, is ready to cancel World Cup races scheduled to be held in Russia later this season.
According to the report Valbe stated that she would move the March 16-19 final World Cup event in Tynmun to a location outside of Russia if it would help aid the standing of the athletic system in the country on the world stage.
