February 06, 2017 – The Canadian Centre for Ethics in Sport (CCES) is an independent, national, not-for-profit organization. The CCES is seeking an individual to fill this fulltime permanent position.
The Results Manager contributes to the efficacy of the CCES by managing day-to-day laboratory results, including negative results, adverse analytical results, and initial reviews, hearings and appeals, and recommends modifications and improvements to the initial review, hearing and appeal procedures. The Results Manager also manages compliance with the athlete whereabouts program through the implementation of the Whereabouts Non-Compliance processes. The Results Manager provides leadership and supervision for the Results Coordinator. The Results Manager contributes to the overall development, maintenance and improvement of the Canadian Anti-Doping Program including the CCES’ Quality Management System for Anti-Doping.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Laboratory Certificates/Failures to Comply
– Review all laboratory certificates;
– Manage both negative and positive laboratory certificates, including necessary follow-up with laboratory;
– Review all potential failures to comply, including all necessary communication with doping control officers, chaperones, NSO officials and other possible witnesses;
– Develop and implement file tracking systems including the use of ADAMS and/or CADPaccess;
– Monitor and advise the Manager, Intelligence and Results on international and domestic developments and requirements relevant to results management;
– Recommend changes to results management procedures and implement approved changes.
Initial Reviews/Investigations
– Conduct all initial reviews of adverse analytical findings;
– Conduct all investigations of possible failures to comply;
– Manage all necessary communication with athletes, coaches, sport organizations, international federations, laboratories and WADA including, use of ADAMS;
– Make recommendations to the Manger, Intelligence and Results, Senior Manager, CADP and Senior Director, Sport Integrity on notices asserting anti-doping rule violations;
– Prepare notices asserting anti-doping rule violations.
Determination Hearings and Appeals
– Manage CCES participation in determination hearings and appeals;
– Instruct legal counsel;
– Advise senior management, international sport organizations and WADA of status of hearings and appeals including, use of ADAMS;
– Ensure maintenance of the registry of violations;
– Ensure the management of public disclosure of determinations, hearings and appeals.
Whereabouts Compliance
– Conduct all reviews of potential Missed Tests or Failures to Provide Whereabouts Information;
– Make recommendations to the Manager, Intelligence and Results on notices asserting anti-doping rule violations;
– Prepare notices asserting anti-doping rule violations.
Qualifications and Competencies:
– University degree in the field of sport, health, education, social science and/or marketing or equivalent combination of education and experience.
– Minimum 2 years’ experience in a relevant coordinator position(s).
– Knowledge of anti-doping programs including the World Anti-Doping Program and its implementation across the international and Canadian sport systems.
– Success in achieving project goals while fulfilling multiple project deliverables.
– Successful track record of performing effectively in a team setting and driven by team success.
– Able to work in a collaborative, supportive fashion in a way that promotes the organization’s best interests in keeping with the CCES corporate culture.
– Knowledge of the greater Canadian Sport Community.
– Strong understanding of current ethical issues impacting sport.
– Professional conduct, sound judgement and leadership skills. Strong interpersonal skills including tact, diplomacy, and flexibility to work effectively with colleagues and peers.
– Highly conscious and aware of confidentiality and integrity with the ability to manage and interpret sensitive and confidential data.
– Demonstrated organizational, contract management (deadline management) and administrative experience
– Strong organizational skills, accuracy and attention to detail are essential.
– Demonstrated time management, problem solving and conflict resolution skills.
– Proficient in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook.
– Excellent English verbal and written communication skills.
– Excellent French verbal and written communication skills.
Starting Annual Salary Range: $40,600 – $45,600
