February 10, 2015 (Park City, UT) – The U.S. Ski and Snowboard Association announced the addition of Ben Saxton (Lakeville, MN) to the Falun 2015 World Championships roster. Saxton will join the 16 skiers already named on January 26. The naming comes on the heels of a sixth place finish at the U23 World Championships in Almaty, Kazakhstan last week.
“Ben has had another breakout year in sprinting. His sprint result at the U23 World Championships indicates that he is ready to compete with the very best in the world,” said US Cross Country Team, Head Coach Chris Grover.
Saxton responded to the discretion pick for Falun, “I am incredibly honored to be named to the World Championship team in Falun this year. Being a part of the U.S. Ski Team Family has undoubtedly played a significant role in my growth as a skier, and I am very excited to take represent that team, and our country in Sweden.”
The World Championship classic sprint event takes place on February 19.

If you’ve named Ben—-how about Katherine Ogden—-WJC results say a lot to me on top of what she has done all season—one race is all I’d have her do at the WSC—see the show–and think of how she will have progressed from being there and then it is ’17 and then ’18 and ready to go as she has had ’16 to get ready—she makes more sense to me the a lot of the other picks below the top group—also, and I’ve never seen this lady—she looks like for her age that she has reached her full growth—don’t let her leave Europe
