March 11, 2015 (Drammen, NOR) – Eirik Brandsdal led another Norwegian sweep in the men’s 1.3km CL Sprint as teammate Finn Hagen Krogh took second along with the coveted globe as the overall Sprint Cup winner. Ola Vigen Hattestad, the 2014 Sprint crystal globe winner, finished third.
American Andy Newell was the top North American in 12th as he advanced to the semis but finished 6th in his heat while Canada’s Len Valjas also made the heats as the top qualifier in 19th. Valjas was paired with Newell in the last quarter final and ended up 3rd in their heat to finish 14th on the day.
Canada’s Alex Harvey who was 33rd in Drammen was the top North American overall in 13th with Newell 18th as Brandsdal ended up second and Italy’s Federico Pellegrino was 3rd behind Krogh.
The final race for the men is the 50km CL on Saturday, March 14 at the famous Holmenkollen in Oslo.
