December 03, 2016 (Lillehammer, NOR) – Canada’s Alex Harvey delivered another strong result finishing 10th in the men’s 10km FR interval start on Saturday as Sweden’s Calle Halfvarsson made it two for two in Lillehammer. Teammate Marcus Hellner was second with Russia’s Sergey Ustiugov in third. Norway was surprisingly shut out at home.
Noah Hoffman was the top American in 33rd. “The top-10 is always the standard for me to be happy. A 10-kilometre race goes by really fast. The goal was not to lose any time on the first lap, and then fight hard for the second half. I went out hard today, but lost a couple of spots near the end,” said Harvey who is now 8th overall in the mini tour.Devon Kershaw skied to 40th, Toronto’s Len Valjas was 42nd, Graeme Killick placed 64th, Knute Johnsgaard was 73rd, while Bob Thompson was 88th and Andy Shields finished 89th.
“I’m within striking distance for sure. I have lots of good guys within my group, and I think we will be fighting for that top-three. I still enjoy the mass starts more so I’m looking forward to tomorrow,” said Harvey.
