August 04, 2016 – Standout Canadian Nordic athlete Alex Harvey, who was already using Salomon boots and bindings, has agreed to make the switch to Salomon skis as he begins the 2016-2017 Nordic season.
Salomon’s Nordic race team worked closely with Harvey over the last several years to ensure his comfort and performance in Salomon’s carbon S/LAB boots and Salomon bindings, and is excited to have his complete trust in Salomon equipment with the addition of Salomon skis.In mid-July, Harvey made the announcement on his Facebook page, saying: “I’m happy to announce that from now on, on top of the boots and bindings, I will be training and racing with Salomon skis!”
Harvey, a Quebec native who will turn 28 on September 7, is two-time Olympian for Canada and finished third in the overall World Cup in 2014 and sixth in 2012. Among his other accomplishments: a Silver medal in the Classic Sprint at the 2015 World Championships; a Bronze medal in the 30km Skiathlon, also at the 2015 World Championships; and a Bronze medal in the Classic Sprint at the 2013 World Championships. Additionally, he earned a World Championship in the Team Sprint at the 2011 World Championships and was the under-23 World Champion in the 30km Skiathlon in 2011.
Harvey joins two other Canadian athletes on the Salomon team, Rosanna Crawford and Brendan Green. He comes from an impressive athletic family. Harvey’s father, Pierre Harvey, competed in multiple Olympics as both a cross-country skier and road cyclist for Canada.
