November 05, 2015 (Montreal, QC) – Canadian Wintersports Inc. of Montreal, Quebec, is pleased to announce a new partnership with Scioline Rode di Rodeghero Roberta & C. snc of Asiago, Italy, as the exclusive Canadian distributor of Rode Ski Wax & Accessories.

Rode Ski Wax was founded in 1972 by Rodeghiero Rizzieri but it’s roots go back to the mid 1930s when the younger Rodeghiero, also known as “Rode”, began mixing waxes at home and testing them at his own races. “Rode” won 7 Italian Championships during his career including the 18km and the 50km Nordic races and the Nordic combined events. In 1948 “Rode” raced at the St. Moritz Olympic Games with a sever flu and a very high fever but still managed a 14th-place finish. During the mid 1950s “Rode” spent his time preparing skis for the Italian national team.

Rode is a heritage wax brand, one that continues to be operated by Rodeghiero’s family and cherished by the ski community worldwide.

It is important to note that Rode Ski Wax has been in Canada for over 20 years thanks to the dedication of Bernie Sander of Lazl. Bernie has grown the brand to where it is today. There are very few Canadian skiers, coaches, or wax technicians who aren’t already using Rode products in Canada. Canadian Wintersports wishes to recognize that significant effort and remains humbled by the work Lazl has accomplished with Rode Ski Wax.
