Canmore Nordic Ski Club Announces Rachel Koroscil as Biathlon Head Coach

April 23, 2015 (Canmore, AB) – The Canmore Nordic Ski Club is pleased to announce that Rachel Koroscil has been named Biathlon Head Coach effective May 25. Koroscil replaces Jeff Lodge who will retire this spring.

“We look forward to welcoming Rachel to the Canmore Nordic Ski Club,” said Jim Hendry, president of the Canmore Nordic Ski Club. “We are confident she will provide solid leadership in the continued development of our biathlon program.”

“We want to thank Jeff Lodge for his dedication and contribution to Canmore’s biathlon program which has seen athletes move up to represent Canada nationally and internationally in the sport.”

Koroscil has a Bachelor of Education and a Bachelor of Physical Education from the University of Manitoba. She has a number of coaching certifications and has been the Provincial Head Coach for the Biathlon Association of Manitoba since 2009, and last summer served as an assistant coach for the Biathlon Alberta Training Centre located in Canmore, Alberta.

“I’m excited to be joining the Canmore Nordic Ski Club,” said Koroscil. “I look forward to sharing my knowledge, experience and enthusiasm for biathlon, and to working and living in one of the most beautiful places in the world.”
