For ten years the not-for-profit organization has been hosting fun-filled events all over North America were girls get the chance to have fun be active and be inspired by Olympic and elite athlete role models.
In 2015, Fast and Female hosted 50 events in a variety of sports in Canada, USA, and Australia and and impacted over 3,000 young women and their families. Since its inception ten years ago, the organization has inspired and empowered more than 12,000 stakeholders including female youth, parents and coaches.
Crawford and the Fast and Female Board of Directors are launching a Calgary-wide search for a new Executive Director for Fast and Female and hopes to have a new person in position by mid March, 2016.
“We are looking for an Executive Director who can provide the social entrepreneurship mindset, financial acumen and people management capacities that will enable Fast and Female to make an even bigger difference,” said Candice McKay, Fast and Female Board member since 2010. “Fast and Female is in a solid position to expand its reach. We look forward to working with a leader who can bring the business and leadership skills to make our vision of female empowerment a reality.”
Marie-Hélène Thibeault, who has been the Executive Director for the past seven years and played a key role in growing the organization, is stepping down to pursue new professional opportunities. Along with her young family who have supported dozens of events, she will continue to be a great friend of the organization.
