May 03, 2016 – Central Cross Country Skiing is proud to announce, Felicia Gesior and Oscar Friedman will be joining the CXC Team for the 2016-2017 season. Felicia and Oscar look to build upon the success they have achieved in collegiate skiing, in the professional ranks.
Felicia Gesior
Felicia Gesior is a native of Waukesha, Wisconsin, and attended Northern Michigan University, where she skied for the past five years. Gesior had a very successful ski career at NMU. She is a two-time All-CCSA, was the top skier in the CCSA conference in 2016 and was a 2x Top 10 finisher at U.S. Nationals. Gesior qualified for two NCAA Championships, where she earned several top 20 finishes and also represented the U.S. at the 2016 U23 Championships in Rasnov, Romania. She majored in elementary education/social studies.
Why Felicia chose CXC: “Skiing is a great way for me to enjoy time outside during the winter, plus I love to train.”
Oscar Friedman
Oscar Friedman grew up in Boulder, Colorado and attended college at Dartmouth, where he skied for five years. 2016 was a big year for Friedman; he was ranked sixth overall in collegiate skiing, third in freestyle and seventh in classic, qualified for NCAA’s and finished in the top 25 in the 10k freestyle and 20th in the 20k classic. Friedman was also named All-East Second Team. Friedman hopes to attend medical school after his professional skiing career.
Why Friedman chose CXC: “The CXC program offers a large and motivated training group, along with a focus on distance racing.”

CXC Team Application Deadline: May 15
CXC Team will now be running an open contract supplier system for skis, boots and poles for all athletes. Athletes will be able to work with brands they have established relationships. The team will remain supported by specific brands for other equipment types.
