February 25, 2018 (PyeongChang, South Korea) – As the 2018 PyeongChang Olympic Winter Games came to an end the final medal count saw Norway top the field with 39 medals followed by Germany in second with 31. Canada took home the bronze medal position with 29 medals. The United States claimed fourth with 23 medals as the Netherlands rounded out the top five. Norway and Germany each won 14 golds matching Canada’s total at Vancouver 2010. It was Canada’s best medal haul ever surpassing 26 medals at Vancouver 2010. The USA fell short of their 28 medals at Sochi 2014 and 37 medals at Vancouver 2010, but matched their record of 9 golds at each of the past three Olympics, one of which came from Jessie Diggins and Kikkan Randall in the Team Sprint cross-country ski race.
