May 29, 2019 (Cavtat, Croatia) – Along side the rocky coast line of the Adriatic the 2019-20 FIS Calendar Conference got underway on May 27 in the afternoon in the seaside city of Cavtat in Croatia.
Delegates and committee members representing all FIS snowsport disciplines have gathered from around the world to discuss everything from calendar dates for future World Cups, to rule changes, to utilization of the latest digital tools to promote the sport. FIS has held meetings here in Croatia in the past in 2009 and again in 2013. During the conference more than 70 separate meetings for committees and subcommittees will be conducted. There will also be a meeting of the FIS Council and the FIS President will make his address. The final day will also see approval of scheduling, technical committee action and other business by the FIS Council. Among the many issues of this years conference will be the growing support for more gender equality on technical committees and on the powerful FIS Council. A timely move that is already galvanized much support. Stay tuned with us during the FIS meetings as we will continue to update information as warranted.
