February 09, 2015 (Craftsbury, NH) – Kris Freeman (Freebird) made it 3-for-3 claiming the men’s 15km Classic mass start race on Sunday in snowy conditions for the hat-trick victory weekend at the 2015 USSA SuperTour in Craftsbury Feb. 13-15. The real battle in the men’s race was for the silver as Gordon Vermeer (Craftsbury GRP) pipped Alexander Treinen (APU Nordic Ski Center) by a mere 0.1s at the line. “I won 3 out of 3 XC ski Supertour races this weekend! Next up World Championships,” tweeted Freeman.
Rececca Rorabaugh (APU Nordic Ski Center) got the win she wanted taking the women’s 10km CL race by a ski tip – a 0.9s-margin – in another tight battle with Saturday’s 10km FR winner Mary Rose (Sun Valley SEF). Third went to Anja Gruber (Ind). at 4.1 seconds back. Craftsbury’s Kaitlynn Miller finished 4th at 7.6s back with her teammate Caitlin Patterson in 5th at 11.2s behind Rorabaugh who tweeted, “My first SuperTour #win! So happy to have had enough left at the end, and happy to race with my #APUNSC teammates the whole way.
