April 01, 2019 (Quebec City, QC) – SkiTrax has learned from reliable sources that Canada’s Alex Harvey will race one more year – but for Norway – and Norwegian star, Johannes Hoesflot Klaebo, is coming to Canada as part of a unique exchange program that came together during the recent 2019 FIS XC Ski finals in Quebec City.
“We were joking together after the races and then the idea took hold,” said Harvey off the record. “Klaebo loves poutine and couldn’t wait to come back and I love Norway and my old friend Devon Kershaw is there so it didn’t take long for things to come together.”We spoke with Klaebo as well who confirmed he’s already practising his French and “yes I love poutine” he told SkiTrax. The superstar skier says he also loves Quebec City along with Canmore, Alberta, and admitted that maple syrup has been one of his favourites since he was a kid.
Nic Lemyre, High Performance Advisor from Nordiq Canada who also lives in Norway, said things are progressing and there are more details to work out, but the idea is resonating in both camps and more news will be available soon about this exciting new concept.
