August 25, 2015 (Canmore, AB) – CCC is pleased to announce that we are planning to host a high performance coaching seminar designed specifically for cross country ski coaches. The seminar will be held May 7-8th 2016 in Canmore (AB). The seminar will be open to all cross country ski coaches meeting minimum NCCP standards but will be part of mandatory sport-specific training for coaches enrolled in the NCCP Competition-Development Advanced Gradation.
Some of the topics and presentations planned for the workshop:
- Skiing efficiency at different speeds and inclines and impact on performance
- Metabolic rate and efficiency in world class sprinters
- Emerging trends in waxing techniques and testing on the World Cup
- Canadian World Cup team training program
- Team dynamics in individual sports
- Evaluating mental skills training programs for elite cross country skiers
- Current trends in elite endurance sport athlete training; where future gains lie
- Achieving sport life balance for increasing motivation and retention of athletes
Minimum NCCP standards for registration:
Coaches must have NCCP Competition-Intro. Advanced TRAINED status completed (both CCI-T2T workshops) to register for the workshop.
Cost:
We anticipate the registration fee to be about $300 per participant, including two full days of conferences, presentation materials and morning and afternoon snacks.
