April 12, 2016 (Barrie, ON) – Following the recent announcement of his pending retirement, we caught up with Jack Sasseville of Hardwood Ski and Bike Inc. to find out more about his decision, his storied career, and plans going forward. Sasseville talks about retiring on his 65th birthday as his mom did and shares lots of interesting history including becoming a golf pro at 19 in Saskatoon which that led him to xc skiing back in 1974. He quickly became a teacher of the sport, then a provincial and national team coach, and that led him to Hardwood back in 1995 via Janet Gates during the Nordic World Champioships in Thunder Bay. Along the way he became a colour commentator for CBC and later Sasseville became the general manager at Hardwood where cycling became a third key sport on his resume. The pinnacle of his tenure at the renowned xc ski and MTB resort, was hosting the mountain biking events at the 2015 Pan Am Games – read the retirement announcement here and about Hardwood here..
