August 20, 2016 (Ried im Innkreis, Austria) – Jan Ekmark has assumed the newly created position of Head of Marketing as of August 1st. In this new role Ekmark will have marketing responsibilities for Fischer’s three divisions: Alpine, Nordic, and Hockey. Under his leadership the marketing team will be restructured to focus on the areas of e-marketing, sports marketing/PR, as well as trade and consumer marketing.
The restructuring is part of a package of measures designed to communicate the brand’s positioning more clearly and more effectively. “We’ve found the right man for the job in Jan Ekmark. As a member of the Fischer Marketing Board he’ll also help shape the strategic development of the brand into the future.” according to Fischer CEO Franz Föttinger
Ekmark is excited about his new challenge commenting, “Alpine and Nordic skiing, with hockey on top of that, really make a winter sport fan’s heart beat faster! Ekmark, originally from Sweden, has led the Swarovski Austria Marketing team since 2010. In addition, he has over seven years experience at Adidas world headquarters. Through his experience in marketing operations, global product marketing, and as a business analyst he possesses a comprehensive, versatile set of skills. Prior to Swarovski and Adidas he studied Business Administration and Economics in Sweden and Austria.
